Influx is led by Ben Weston-Conway, a chartered marketer, communications strategist and writer.
Ben works extensively with education brands and has strong experience working with founder-led businesses, charities and politicians. Much of his recent work has centred around making historical organisations feel exciting to new audiences whilst staying true to their traditional values and heritage.
Leaders trust him with projects that are strategically important and/or close to their hearts. He translates vision into action, challenges conventional thinking and delivers exceptional outcomes. In recent months, Ben has launched a podcast for a CEO, advised an education group on the branding of a new acquisition and ghostwritten speeches/articles about artificial intelligence, early years education and mental health. As a writer, his words (often disguised as somebody else’s!) have appeared in most of the UK’s major newspapers and magazines.
He is proud to have grown up in Oldham in Greater Manchester and of how his upbringing has shaped his world view. This positively impacts Influx’s work as Ben feels a sense of connection to people from all walks of life and can empathise with a broad spectrum of opinion. He is passionate about social justice and unlocking opportunities for people of all backgrounds, and believes in the power of communications and community to bring about meaningful change.
Away from Influx, Ben is Head of Communications at Radley College, one of the country’s leading independent schools and a trustee of Soundabout, a wonderful charity providing opportunities for learning disabled people to live joyful, musical lives. He studied at Durham University and the Royal Northern College of Music, and now lives between Manchester and Buckinghamshire.
